The President Award provides full or half scholarships for outstanding international freshmen (non-Overseas Compatriot Students). This award applies to international undergraduate freshmen admitted from the 2024 Fall semester onwards.

1. Award Details
1) Full Scholarship
- Full tuition waiver for one academic year (excluding administrative fees, internet, housing, books, insurance, etc.)
- Monthly stipend of NT$15,000 (maximum one year)
2) Half Scholarship
- Full tuition waiver for one academic year (same exclusions apply)
- Monthly stipend of NT$8,000 (maximum one year)
2. Eligibility (All conditions must be met)
- Meet MOE “Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan”.
- Must not hold Overseas Compatriot Student status or ROC nationality.
- Must not receive scholarships/grants from any government agency in Taiwan or Taipei Tech.
- Must not be engaged in full-time paid employment in Taiwan.
- High school average score must reach GPA 2.8 (4-point scale) or 70 out of 100 points.
3. Scholarship Quota
- 26 recipients in total each academic year:
- 6 Full Scholarship recipients
- 20 Half Scholarship recipients
- If no eligible candidates, the award remains vacant with no alternates.
4. Awarding Period
- The award is granted for the first academic year only.
- Non-renewable.
- Scholarship eligibility will not be retained after a leave of absence.
5. Application Procedure
Students are automatically considered when applying for admission to the Fall semester. No separate application form is required.
- Upload all required admission documents to the online application system.
- If applicable, upload supporting documents for special achievements.
- Select the option for “Taipei Tech Scholarship” in the system.
- The Scholarship Review Committee evaluates:
- Completeness of documents
- High school academic performance
- Language proficiency
- Special achievements
Guidelines for “Other / Special Achievement” Supporting Documents:
- Complete the “List of Supporting Documents” and attach it to the first page.
- All documents must be provided in Chinese or English.
- Recommended categories of supporting materials:
- Competitions / Awards
- Professional licenses or certificates
- Language proficiency certificates
- Other achievements (activities, projects, camps, etc.)
If a student is awarded both the Chinese-Proficient Scholarship (Hua Yu Scholarship) and the President Award, the President Award will take priority.
