National Taipei University of Technology 2024 School Anniversary and Character Education Cup Rowing Competition Guidelines

I. Event Purpose: To celebrate the school anniversary, promote a spirit of campus athletics, foster teamwork, and strengthen the unity and identity of the university’s faculty, staff, and students, this university-wide rowing competition is organized.

II. Organizing Units:

  1. Organizer: Department of Physical Education
  2. Co-organizer: Office of Student Affairs

III. Competition Date:
December 10, 2024 (Tuesday), 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

IV. Venue:
First Floor Atrium, Third Teaching Building

V. Participants:
All university faculty, staff, and students

VI. Registration Information:
For registration, please visit the Department of Physical Education webpage or register directly through the following link: https://forms.gle/r2uBQVmdNKwLSP5K7. Registration is open until 11:59 PM on November 24, 2024. Please check the Physical Education webpage for updates.

VII. Competition Format:

  1. Individual Race:

    • Categories: Faculty/Staff (Male/Female), Students (Male/Female)
    • Format: Timed distance challenge. Men row for 2 minutes; women row for 1.5 minutes. Rankings are based on rowing distance, with the top eight advancing.
    • Registration: Open to all. Expected participation: 36 men and 24 women.
  2. Team Relay Race:

    • Categories: Faculty/Staff Team, Student Team
    • Format: Four-minute relay, with teams of four (at least one female per team). Each team member rows for one minute, switching at 50 seconds, 1 minute 50 seconds, and 2 minutes 50 seconds, with a 10-second handover time. Rankings are based on total distance covered. Top eight teams win.
    • Registration: Each department and administrative unit must field at least one team. Cross-departmental teams are allowed, but only one physical education teacher per team. Expected participation: 24 faculty/staff teams and 24 student teams (192 participants total).

VIII. Awards:

  1. Individual Race (Faculty/Staff Male & Female, Student Male & Female Categories)

    • 1st place: NT$3,000 and a certificate

    • 2nd place: NT$2,000 and a certificate

    • 3rd place: NT$1,000 and a certificate

    • 4th-5th place: NT$800 and a certificate

    • 6th-8th place: NT$500 and a certificate
      *Note: Prizes are halved if fewer than 10 participants compete in a category.

    • Record-breaking Award: NT$1,000. If multiple participants break the record, only the top performer will receive this award.

  2. Team Relay Race (Faculty/Staff Team, Student Team)

    • 1st place: NT$5,000 and a certificate

    • 2nd place: NT$4,000 and a certificate

    • 3rd place: NT$3,000 and a certificate

    • 4th place: NT$2,000 and a certificate

    • 5th place: NT$1,000 and a certificate

    • 6th-8th place: NT$800 and a certificate
      *Note: Prizes are halved if fewer than 10 teams participate.

    • Team Record-breaking Award: NT$2,000. If multiple teams break the record, only the best team will receive this award.

  3. Completion Gift: Participants demonstrating sportsmanship and completing the competition can receive a completion gift and apply for a certificate of participation from the Department of Physical Education.

IX. Important Notices:

  1. Those found providing false information, competing under another name, or violating entry qualifications will forfeit any awards, prizes, and certificates.
  2. Violations during the competition may result in disqualification and forfeiture of awards, prizes, and certificates.
  3. The organizing committee reserves the right to amend the rules, prizes, or other competition details at any time.
