Introduction

Taipei Tech offers both on-campus and off-campus dormitories in Taipei and New Taipei City. Off-campus accommodations are about 35 minutes from campus via the Taipei Metro. Each room houses four residents and includes a telephone and internet access. Dorm fees, approximately NT$5,000, are paid per semester and do not cover winter or summer breaks. New students are assigned to dorms for their first two years; first-year students stay in the On-campus Dormitory. In the second year, male students transfer to Xinbei Dormitory, while female students move to Nangang Dormitory. From the third year onward, dorm assignments are determined by lottery and are not guaranteed. Students who are not selected should prepare to find alternative housing. Taipei Tech manages all residence hall assignments.

Please note that dormitory spaces are not guaranteed for students enrolled in the Spring Intake.

*NOTE: Students who arrive before the opening date will NOT be allowed to live in the dormitories and must make their own arrangements for accommodation until the dormitories are open.

 

 

Taipei Tech Dormitories Costs

In general, all rooms are quad rooms.

Dormitory cost for Taipei Tech On-Campus Dormitory :
NTD 9,900 (around USD 320) per person for one semester, plus NTD 1,000 deposit, which will be refunded when checking out. Extra fees will be charged for using AC and laundry machines.

Dormitory cost for Taipei Tech Nangang Dormitory (Off-campus):
NTD 9,000 (around USD 290) per person for one semester, plus NTD 1,000 deposit, which will be refunded when checking out. Extra fees will be charged for using AC and laundry machines.

Dormitory cost for Taipei Tech Xinbei (Haishan) Dormitory (Off-campus):
NTD 7,850 (around USD 253) per person for one semester, plus NTD 1,000 deposit, which will be refunded when checking out. Extra fees will be charged for using AC and laundry machines.

Dormitory costs for summer and winter breaks are charged separately. Please ask the dormitory administrator for rates.

 

 

Taipei Tech On-Campus Dormitory

All first-year students who have applied for Taipei Tech Dormitories are allocated to the residence hall at Taipei Tech (a.k.a. Taipei Tech On-campus Dormitory).

Taipei Tech Nangang Off-Campus Dormitory (females only)

All second-year female students who have applied for Taipei Tech Dormitories will be allocated to the residence hall at the Taipei Municipal Nangang Vocational High School (a.k.a. Nangang Dormitory).

The hall is located at a 5-minute walking distance from the Nangang Taipei Metro Station. The traveling time from Nangang Metro Station to Taipei Tech (Zhongxiao Xinsheng Metro Station) is approximately 15 minutes and the cost is NT$25 per trip.

Please use your Student ID Card to enter the door of dorm.
(If you don't have student ID card, please bring an EASYCARD or iPASS with regular card shapes to dorm office at 5th floor to setting it)

Please use the door at the intersection of Huimin Street and Xinmin Street to enter Nangang Dormitory, 
the door opposites the No.7, Huimin Street, Nangang District, Taipei City (opposites 永和豆漿 YongHe DouJiang restaurant, the 5th floor of Nangang Vocational High School's Jingye Building).

All second-year male students who have applied for Taipei Tech Dormitories will be allocated to the residence hall at the New Taipei Municipal New Taipei Industrial Vocational High School (a.k.a. Xinbei (Haishan) Dormitory).

The hall is located at a 5-minute walking distance from the Haishan Taipei Metro Station. The traveling time from Haishan Metro Station to Taipei Tech (Zhongxiao Xinsheng Metro Station) is approximately 30 minutes and the cost is NT$35 per trip.

Tips for finding an accommodation

(1) Use the MRT (subway) route map as a Reference

Taipei's subway system, MRT, is the backbone of Taipei's public transportation. Mandarin Traning Center is located near (1) Guting Station; (2) Taipower Building Station; (3) Dongmen Station. Choosing a location close to one of the three MRT stations is a quick way to find an accommodation at a close distance to the MTC. For the route map of MRT, please click here.

(4) A few reminders for signing a lease

When you sign the lease, in addition to the first month's rent, the landlord will generally ask for two months' rent as a deposit. The deposit will be returned in full or deducted based on the condition of the accommodation at the time of departure.

As photos are not always reliable, we strongly suggest you not to sign a long-term lease before you arrive in Taiwan and inspect the accommodation in person.
