Requirement

New students who wish to apply for Taipei Tech Chinese-Proficient Scholarship (Hua Yu Scholarship) must submit one of the following certificates before semester begins.

  1. TOCFL B Level or above
  2. Chinese Subject - Level C or above in SPM Test
  3. Chinese Subject - Level C or above in UEC Test
  4. Other proofment mentioned by the Steering Committee for the Test Of Proficiency-Huayu (except the mainland China area) https://www.sc-top.org.tw/chinese/LS/test4.php

Scholarship can be renewed based on the academic performance in previous year. Please check the Chinese-Proficient Scholarship (Hua Yu Scholarship) Regulation for reference.

International Undergraduate Student Scholarship: President Award

Target

Undergraduate International Freshmen (Not available for Overseas Chinese Students)

This award is applicable to international undergraduate freshmen enrolled from the academic year 2024 Fall (inclusive) onwards.

Award Item 1. Full Scholarship:

1) Full tuition waiver for one school year (Excluding administrative fees, internet usage fees, accommodation, books, insurance, and other expenses).

2) Monthly stipend for 15,000NTD, with a maximum duration of one year.

2. Half Scholarship:

1) Full tuition waiver for one school year (Excluding administrative fees, internet usage fees, accommodation, books, insurance, and other expenses).

2) Monthly stipend for 8,000NTD, with a maximum duration of one year

Eligibility (All conditions must be met)

1. Applicants who meet the requirements in accordance with Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan.

2. Not hold overseas Chinese student status or Republic of China citizenship.

3. Does not receive scholarships or grants from government agencies in Taiwan or Taipei Tech.

4. Not engaged in full-time paid employment in the R.O.C.

5. The total average score for high school of the applicant should reach GPA 2.8 or above out of the four points scale (or 70% of the total points).

Scholarship Quota

The number of awards granted each academic year is set at 26 as a principle for the entire school. Winners are selected by the Scholarship Review Committee.
If there are no eligible students, the award will remain vacant, and no alternate or waiting list will be arranged.

1. Full Scholarship: a total of 6 recipients.

2. Half Scholarship: a total of 20 recipients.
 
Awarding Period

First year only.

Cannot be renewed.

Application

Applicants may submit their applications when applying to become a full-time undergraduate degree program student at Taipei Tech in the Fall semester.

Additionally, they may upload other documents demonstrating their professional abilities and special achievements that are beneficial for the review process (must be accompanied by translations in Chinese or English).

 For 2024 Fall Intakes, OIA will send the online scholarship application form to officially admitted students by email. If you are on the admission list announced on June 11, please pay attention to your email (application ended). ​​​​​​ ​

Remarks

If an applicant simultaneously applies for the NTUT Chinese-Proficient Scholarship (Hua Yu Scholarship) and is awarded both scholarships, preference will be given to the awarding of this scholarship (the President Award).


Guidelines for National Taipei University of Technology International Undergraduate Student Scholarship_2024

Outstanding Academic Achievement Scholarship

Target

Undergraduate International Students from 2nd grade to 4th grade (Not available for Overseas Chinese Students)

This award is applicable to international undergraduate freshmen enrolled from the academic year 2024 Fall (inclusive) onwards.

Award Item 1. Full Scholarship: Monthly stipend for 15,000NTD, approved on a semesterly basis.
2. Half Scholarship: Monthly stipend for 8,000NTD, approved on a semesterly basis.
Eligibility (All conditions must be met) 1. Applicants must be international undergraduate students enrolled at Taipei Tech with formal student status and must have completed at least one academic year of study (students in their fifth year or above are not eligible to apply).

2. Does not scholarships or grants from government agencies in Taiwan or Taipei Tech (if the scholarship provided by Taipei Tech is solely for tuition waivers, then this restriction does not apply).

3. Students must rank in the top 50% of their department based on the average grades of the previous semester, have a conduct score of 80 or above, and have not received disciplinary actions beyond admonition from the university.

4. Have completed the online health questionnaire, the health checkup after enrolling, and have obtained the certificate of participation (Overseas Students Safety and Security Seminar) from the latest seminar.

5. Not engaged in full-time paid employment in the R.O.C

Awarding Period The reward items are approved on a semesterly basis (up to 6 months each time), and they are disbursed monthly.
Application Applicants shall apply to the Office of International Affairs before the announced deadline at the end of each semester.

2. Official Academic Transcript of all school years to date

3. Record of disciplinary actions and awards received over the years
4. Department Ranking Certificate
5. Certificate of participation (Overseas Students Safety and Security Seminar) from the latest seminar (If unable to submit the certificate during the application period, it may be submitted to the Office of International Affairs after attending the following sessions for the current year.
Failure to submit within the year will result in the revocation of the award and the recovery of any scholarship funds received.)
6. Documents for Special achievements (including international exchanges, participation in international competitions or conferences, service contributions, project involvement, relevant work/internship experience, certifications, etc.).
Remarks

Students can receive this scholarship and the NTUT Chinese-Proficient Scholarship (Hua Yu Scholarship) at the same time.

1st year Application

New Intakes only need to apply the scholarship when applying for admission online. We will review your documents and the scholarship result will be announced along with the admission result.

 

The following international graduate students may not apply for the International Graduate Student Scholarship :

  1. Students who are already receiving other forms of financial aid from Taiwan government or Taipei Tech.
  2. Students who are engaged in full-time paid employment in Taiwan (whose ARC shows "應聘" may not apply). 

The English version of Guidelines for Taipei Tech International Graduate Students Scholarship is written based on the Chinese version. In the event of any discrepancies, the Chinese version shall prevail.

Renewal Application

Master Students: Second year master’s students may apply for tuition fee subsidy with first year academic average 80 points or above.

PhD Students: From the 2nd year onward, PhD students’ academic performance and the number of published journals (doctoral students only) in the previous year will be the criteria for scholarship renewal.

  • The stipend issue date would be later during the first month of a new semester (September and March) as well as January (school accounting reopens).
  • The issuing date is usally around 15th of the month.

Taiwan Government Scholarships

Taiwan Scholarship (Only available for newly enrolled Fall Intake International Students to apply from the Taiwan overseas mission in their home country)

MOFA

Target : Students from countries that have official diplomatic relations with Taiwan

Award Items :

  1. Tuition Fee Subsidy 50%
  2. Monthly Stipend NT 33,000 ( adjusted since 2023 August).

**MOFA also provides one-way economy class return flight ticket for every MOFA recipients on their graduation year.

MOE Elite Scholarship Program for Lecturers

Target Lecturers (nationals of Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Australia, and New Zealand) who apply for PhD programs

  1. Full Tuition Fee Subsidy (four years max.)
  2. Monthly Stipend around NT 14,000 (1st-3rd year), Monthly Stipend NT 12,000 (4th year)
Renewal Requirement

Recipients must apply for renewal in order to keep the scholarship valid until the 4th year.

From the 2nd year onward, PhD studens’ academic performance and the number of published journals in the previous year will be the requirement for renewal of the scholarship.

**International students must complete the online health questionnaire and the health checkup after enrolling in the school.

Please refer to the announcement for the Renewal Application of the NTUT International Graduate Student Scholarship and prepare the documents accordingly using the same required documents.

* After admission result is announced, Taipei Tech will inform all accepted PhD students from Southeast and South Asia via email around July. Qualified students must send the Lecturer Certificate to Taipei Tech by the designated deadline.
