There are various scholarships available for degree seeking students at Taipei Tech.

Target Undergraduate International Students (Not available for Overseas Chinese Students)
Award Item Tuition Fee Subsidy 50%
Requirement

New students who wish to apply for Taipei Tech Chinese-Proficient Scholarship (Hua Yu Scholarship) must submit one of the following certificates before semester begins :

  1. TOCFL B Level or above
  2. Chinese Subject - Level C or above in SPM Test
  3. Chinese Subject - Level C or above in UEC Test
  4. Other proofment mentioned by the Steering Committee for the Test Of Proficiency-Huayu (except the mainland China area) https://www.sc-top.org.tw/chinese/LS/test4.php

Scholarship can be renewed based on the academic performance in previous year. Please check the Chinese-Proficient Scholarship (Hua Yu Scholarship) Regulation for reference.

Renewal application

Every January (for Make-up application) and July (for Fall intake renewal application)

Please visit the homepage of OIA for latest announcement about the renewal application around every June (for Fall Intake) and December (for Make-up application for one semester).

 

Requirements for renewal / make-up application:
1. Application form
2. Official Transcript of all school years (English Version)
3. Chinese Proficiency Certificate
4. Certificate of Participant-Overseas students safety and security seminar

**Students must renew every year with your academic score in order to keep their scholarship valid.
**Average Academic score must be over 70, and both semesters of the conduct score must be over 80.

**If you already applied and passed the renewal in 2023 Fall Semester, then you do not need to apply again in 2024 Spring.**

 

International Graduate Student Scholarship

Target Postgraduate Foreign Students (also available for Overseas Chinese Students)
Award Item

Master :

  1. Full Tuition Fee Subsidy (two years max.)
  2. Monthly Stipend NT 6,000 (first year only)

PhD :

  1. Full Tuition Fee Subsidy (four years max.)
  2. Monthly Stipend NT 12,000 (four years max.)
Renewal Requirement

Second year master’s students may apply for tuition fee subsidy with first year academic performance.

From the 2nd year onward, PhD students’ academic performance and the number of published journals (doctoral students only) in the previous year will be the criteria for scholarship renewal.

Restriction

The following international graduate students may not apply for the International Graduate Student Scholarship :

  1. Students who are already receiving other forms of financial aid from Taiwan government or Taipei Tech.
  2. Students who are engaged in full-time paid employment in Taiwan. 

The English version of Guidelines for Taipei Tech International Graduate Students Scholarship is written based on the Chinese version. In the event of any discrepancies, the Chinese version shall prevail.

Taiwan Government Scholarships

Taiwan Scholarship (Only available for newly enrolled International Students to apply from the Taiwan overseas mission in their home country)

MOFA

Target : Students from countries that have official diplomatic relations with Taiwan

Award Items :

  1. Tuition Fee Subsidy 50%
  2. Monthly Stipend NT 33,000 ( adjusted since 2023 August)

Target : Students from countries that do NOT have official diplomatic relations with Taiwan

Award Items :

  1. Full Tuition Fee Subsidy
  2. Monthly Stipend NT 15,000 (Undergraduate)
  3. Monthly Stipend NT 20,000 (Postgraduate)

MOST

Target : Postgraduate students from countries that do NOT have official diplomatic relations with Taiwan

Award Items :

  1. Full Tuition Fee Subsidy
  2. Monthly Stipend NT 30,000 (Postgraduate)

* The Taiwan Scholarship listed above should be applied from the relevant ministry or with the Taiwan overseas mission in your home country.
NTUT is not involved with the application of these scholarships and cannot provide assistance with your applications.

MOE Elite Scholarship Program for Lecturers

Target Lecturers (nationals of Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Australia, and New Zealand) who apply for PhD programs
Award Item
  1. Full Tuition Fee Subsidy (four years max.)
  2. Monthly Stipend around NT 14,000 (1st-3rd year), Monthly Stipend NT 12,000 (4th year)
Renewal Requirement

Recipients must apply for renewal in order to keep the scholarship valid until the 4th year.

From the 2nd year onward, PhD studens’ academic performance and the number of published journals in the previous year will be the requirement for renewal of the scholarship.

Renewal application Every July

* After admission result is announced, Taipei Tech will inform all accepted PhD students from Southeast and South Asia via email around July. Qualified students must send the Lecturer Certificate to Taipei Tech by the designated deadline.
